About This Role
Hudson County Community College, is searching for a part-time Advisor for Advisement. Advisement is part of the Center for Academic & Student Success and provides students with integrated services including academic advisement services.
Under the supervision of the Senior Assistant Director of Advisement, the Advisor will promote student success in support of the Colleges, mission and goals. The Advisor will perform all of the following including but not limited to:
What Youll Do:
• Provide academic advising and assist students with major exploration.
• Support students during the registration process, including participation in Registration Labs.
• Engage in planning and execution of college events, such as Welcome Home events for new students.
• Offer in-office, drop-in advising support in self-service areas.
• Participate in campus-wide projects and initiatives that enhance student success.
• Collaborate with college staff to foster a culture of care and student-centered service.
• Other duties as assigned
What Youll Need
• Bachelors degree in Counseling, Psychology, Student Personnel, Higher Education, or related field required.
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with culturally and socioeconomically diverse populations preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and higher education platforms such as Ellucian-Colleague.
• Reading, writing, and conversational proficiency in Arabic or Spanish is preferred.
• Availability to work in-person at both the North Hudson and Journal Square campuses, Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm.
