Job Posting Description
The purpose of this job is to provide technical operations in batch cycle processing, monitoring, error remediation, and production release deployment.
What you will do:
- 2+ years of experience to execute batch cycles for daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc processing of Empower's Plan Accounting system.
- Monitor batch jobs for receipt of dependencies, accurate and timely executions, and surfacing any errors within the translation system process or it's upstream and downstream.
- Troubleshoot failures and follow escalation and alerting paths for resolution.
- Work with other team members to remediate errors and rerun cycles as needed.
- Participate in system reviews for process and efficiency improvements.
- Assist in periodic production releases to deploy new features, enhancements, and fixes.
What you will bring:
- 2+ years of experience working as production Support Engineer with experience in batch cycles for daily, weekly, monthly
- 1+ Experience on AWS platforms preferably with exposure to S3, lambda, step functions, and Athena or Redshift
- Knowledge of ETL job execution methods, with some capability of SQL or other query execution
- Understanding of data flow designs and models
- Proficiency in Python, ETL methodologies, SQL and Big Data solutions is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exposure to Data Warehouse principles
- Collaborates with colleagues regarding batch cycle best practices and/or data application issues.
- Advises and works on options to mitigate and/or alleviate core data application issues, including opportunities for additional process automation.
- Operates independently according to established routine for cycle executions, with some latitude for actions or decisions.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
