Description
The Assistant Director of Business supports the CFO in the day-to-day business, financial, and administrative operations of the Conference Office. This role assists with budget tracking and financial reporting, while also supporting office operations and helping maintain an organized and efficient work environment.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage conference office deposits.
- Process and record financial transactions, including monthly journal entries.
- Manage invoices, payments, and expenses through Sage Intacct.
- Perform credit card reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes and assist with audit preparation.
- Monitor budgets and support the CFO with expense tracking and financial reporting.
- Assist with budget planning, performance analysis, and identifying potential financial issues.
- Coordinate scheduling and preparation for budget and internal meetings.
- Compile and analyze financial and revenue data.
- Support the development and implementation of business and financial procedures.
- Assist with basic office coordination, including supplies and meeting setup.
- Create and format presentations and visual materials using Canva and other tools to support meetings and communications.
- Assist in designing reports, presentations, and other materials to clearly communicate financial and operational information.
- Provide general administrative support to staff as needed.
- Assist other departments with special projects as needed.
General Skills and Requirements:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage a substantial workload with accuracy and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
- Some travel is required.
- Willingness to assist in other areas as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated accounting competencies and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience with Sage Intacct or similar financial systems preferred.
