About the Role
The Associate Chief Research Officer (ACRO) provides strategic leadership for Denver Health’s research enterprise with a focus on health services research in a learning health system environment. The ACRO works closely with leadership across the Office of Academic Affairs to advance research that directly informs clinical care and improves outcomes for vulnerable populations.
This position leads the Center for Health Systems Research and supports the growth of impactful research programs, faculty mentorship, grant development, and partnerships with the University of Colorado and other academic collaborators.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and expand the Center for Health Systems Research, including scientific strategy and program growth
- Maintain an active research portfolio with externally funded grants
- Build multidisciplinary research programs that support Denver Health’s mission
- Support grant development and scientific leadership across departments
- Mentor faculty, clinicians, and trainees engaged in research
- Develop new research training and fellowship opportunities
- Strengthen partnerships with the University of Colorado and other academic collaborators
- Align research priorities with organizational strategy and funding opportunities
Ideal Candidate
- MD, DO, or PhD in health services research, public health, epidemiology, implementation science, or related field
- Associate Professor level or higher with a national reputation in research
- Strong track record of successful grant funded research
- Experience leading multidisciplinary research programs
- Commitment to mentorship and faculty development
- Ability to collaborate across departments and institutions
- Interest in advancing research that improves care for vulnerable populations
