The Opportunity
Reporting to the Research Director, the role of the Associate Director, Diagnostics will include:
- Lead diagnostic R&D programs to develop in vitro diagnostic (IVD) products that are clinically impactful, commercially viable, and align with broader company strategy and objectives.
- Design, execute, manage, analyse, and report on internal and external research projects, particularly focused on exosome biomarker discovery, assay development, and testing.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality technical documentation, including research proposals, project plans, technical reports, peer-reviewed publications, and professional presentations.
- Supervise, train, and manage junior scientists and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing research environment.
Requirements
The Requirements
Applicants whose skills, experience, and research background closely align with the following criteria are encouraged to apply:
- Deep expertise in end-to-end IVD development, including the design, optimisation, technical and clinical validation of analytical methods for IVD Multivariate Index Assays (IVDMIAs) or Laboratory Developed Tests (LDTs).
- Strong understanding of laboratory quality and regulatory standards relevant to IVD development lifecycle, including ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, and IVDR 2017/246.
- PhD in Cell Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Endocrinology, or similar relevant field. A PhD in Oncology (cancer biology or diagnostics) is highly desirable.
- 7+ years of postdoctoral laboratory research experience within an industry setting that includes small group leadership.
- Deep knowledge of multi-omics biomarker discovery including hands-on experience in proteomics, glycomics, and genomics technologies demonstrated by patents or high-quality publications.
- Strong experience in assay development relating to oncology, neurology, and/or cardiology.
