- Associate Professor Term (Open Rank) - General Practice Residency Program Director

The Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry is seeking qualified applicants for an Associate Professor (Open Rank) Term – General Practice Residency Program Director position. The preferred candidate will have demonstrated clinical excellence through their teaching, service activities, and research. The successful applicant will be joining a department committed to a high-quality educational program with a progressive undergraduate curriculum in diagnostic sciences, oral medicine, restorative dentistry, and practice management.
The selected individual will have primary responsibilities in the recruitment, training, and supervision of postgraduate students specializing in General Practice Residency as the program director for the Advanced Education Program.
The position calls for an experienced and mature mentor with recognized interpersonal skills who can provide an evidence-based approach to post-graduate education and clinical care. It is expected that the Residency Program Director will provide leadership in strategic planning, curriculum management, and financial responsibility and must ensure that the program complies with the programmatic requirements as laid out by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
The candidate must be committed to teaching and developing our residents as well as pre-doctoral students with dedication and commitment to providing full-scope quality care and service to patients. Candidates must also be driven to teach and develop their students and to give the highest quality of care to our patients.
This position is full-time. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will:
Be responsible for teaching in the Department's didactic and pre-clinical courses as well as in the comprehensive care clinic
Have proven commitment to leadership roles in dental education with national and emerging international prominence
Participate in intramural faculty practice may be available
Demonstrate excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must possess a DMD, DDS, or equivalent degree and be eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Completion of General Practice Residency (GPR) Program or Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD).
