Breast Imaging Fellowship Position: 2026-2027
Breast Imaging fellowship position is a one year position at Lahey Medical Center. Currently accepting applications starting with academic year 2026-2027
The fellowship position will provide comprehensive training in all aspects of breast imaging including screening and diagnostic mammography, tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and all breast imaging related procedures. Special attention will be paid to all advanced breast imaging techniques. Advanced expertise will be gained in all interventional procedures including stereotactic core needle biopsies using a prone and upright unit, mammography tomosynthesis guided procedures, ultrasound core needle biopsies, MRI guided biopsies, needle aspirations, and needle localizations. Direct involvement in the weekly Breast Tumor Conference is a component of the training which adds depth and breadth of pathology and treatment correlation with the imaging findings. Educational and research activities are strongly encouraged and supported with academic time provided for these activities. Over 38,000 mammograms performed each year provide screening and diagnostic case work.
In addition to comprehensive breast training, fellow will also function as a part-time general radiologist allowing for maintenance of skills in general radiology. The part-time attending status has associated part-time attending level salary and benefits.
Majority of the fellow’s time is spent at Lahey’s main campus located in Burlington, Massachusetts within 30 minutes of historic Boston and Cambridge. Thus there is great diversity of living choices available including beautiful suburbs or more metropolitan setting as desired. The fellow will have the opportunity to participate in breast care at Lahey’s Peabody campus as well.
