Overview
Nicole Williams for Congress is seeking highly motivated, hardworking, and mission-driven interns to join our campaign team. This internship provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced congressional campaign and is ideal for individuals interested in public service, politics, communications, and grassroots organizing. Specifically, current college and professional school students with an interest in Democratic politics and campaigns are strongly encouraged to apply.
Interns will play a critical role in building and mobilizing a winning coalition across the district.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment & Management
- Recruit, onboard, and train volunteers to support campaign activities
- Build and maintain relationships with grassroots supporters
- Schedule and manage volunteer shifts to meet campaign goals and metrics
- Track volunteer engagement and retention metrics
Direct Voter Contact & Field Organizing
- Help develop and execute field plans to meet weekly direct voter contact goals
- Organize and lead phone banks, text banks, and canvassing launches
- Ensure accurate data entry and reporting in the campaign’s voter database
- Support turnout efforts and persuasion programs according to the campaign’s current timeline and logistics
Candidate Support & Event Staffing
- Staff the candidate at campaign events, community meetings, and fundraisers
- Assist with advance work, event logistics, and preparation materials
- Serve as a liaison between the campaign and local supporters
- Help ensure smooth execution of public appearances
Digital Organizing & Engagement
- Spearhead digital organizing efforts, including peer-to-peer outreach
- Assist in developing and executing digital engagement strategies
- Support social media growth, content creation, and rapid response
- Track engagement metrics and recommend improvements
- Help mobilize supporters through email, text, and online action campaigns
Requirements
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for public service and civic engagement
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital tools preferred
- Familiarity with Votebuilder preferred but not required
