Job profile:
- Prepare / review monthly / quarterly / year end tax provisions, including current and deferred taxes, for Morgan Stanley entities in Asia
- Work closely with regional tax team and legal entity controllers during provisioning process
- Maintain and enhance internal documentation and control on provisioning process
- Support local and regional tax team in the quarterly and year end ETR review process with global provisioning team
- Identify opportunities to automate or streamline provisioning processes
- Support local and regional tax team on tax return preparation and tax audit defences across the region, including transfer pricing matters
- Support local and regional tax team on tax advisory for business unit activities, including and not limited to researching tax laws, liaising with external advisors, as well as working with tax teams outside Asia
- Assist with internal projects such as restructuring, capital planning etc
- As the candidate grows within the organization, there would be increased responsibilities and exposure in the region and globally
- Chartered Accountant with 5-9 years of relevant experience in accounting firm or in-house tax Finance / Tax department
- Background in accounting, tax provisioning, corporate tax, audit, financial reporting
- Strong in accounting / tax accounting, preferably under IFRS/US GAAP
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
- Experience with automation tools such as Alteryx and AI is a plus
- Open minded and willing to challenge status quo
