Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (SMMPA) is a joint action agency dedicated to uniting and supporting public power communities by providing economical, reliable, and environmentally responsible wholesale energy and related services. Guided by our values of integrity, teamwork, innovation, and accountability, we are seeking a strategic and mission driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a key member of our executive leadership team.

As CFO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the Agency’s longterm financial health and operational excellence. Reporting to the Executive Director & CEO, you will provide enterprisewide financial leadership while overseeing finance, accounting, financial planning and analysis, and human resources functions. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine strategic vision with handson leadership in a public power environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a closely related field and 10 years of progressively responsible full-time employment experience in a finance/accounting position with at least five years of supervisory/leadership experience directing professional and support staff.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  Must be bondable.  CPA preferred, and MBA or related advanced degree desired.
