Description
OverviewOakridge Country Club, a premier private club nestled in the beautiful mountains of Farmington, Utah, is seeking an energetic, member-focused leader to serve as our next Director of Golf.
Known for our championship golf course, exceptional amenities, and warm, welcoming culture, Oakridge delivers an outstanding private-club experience. The Director of Golf is the face of golf at Oakridge - a highly visible ambassador who combines operational excellence with a passion for growing the game and creating memorable moments for members and their guests.
Reporting directly to the General Manager and working in close partnership with the Golf Course Superintendent and Golf Committee, the Director of Golf assumes full ownership of all golf operations, the professional staff, merchandise program, instructional offerings, tournaments, and the overall member golf experience.

Experience Required
- Proven success as a Head Professional, Director of Golf, or 1st Assistant at a private or high-end resort club strongly preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills and able to proactively establish and grow high-quality membership experience programs
- PGA Class A membership is highly desired but not required
- Demonstrated strength in merchandising, tournament operations, instruction, and staff development
- Strong financial acumen with experience preparing and managing budgets
- Proficiency with modern club software (POS, tee-sheet, tournament management - Golf Genius experience a plus)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; equally comfortable teaching beginners and playing with low-handicap members
- Professional appearance, positive attitude, and genuine love of the game
Essential Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Management *Prepares and manages annual/monthly budgets for golf operations*Develops short- and long-range improvement plans for courses and pro shop*Orders merchandise and supplies within board-approved quality and budget guidelines*Collects all golf-related fees and charges; ensures labor costs stay within budget
Staff Leadership & Development *Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates assistant professionals, instructors, outside services, and other golf staff*Writes clear job descriptions for all subordinate positions*Schedules staff and approves timecards*Plans ongoing professional development and training for the team
Instruction & Member/Guest Experience *Provides individual lessons and group clinics (including junior programs)*Plays golf regularly with members of all skill levels to build relationships and enthusiasm*Designs and runs tournaments, events, clinics, and new-member orientation*Maintains a highly visible, approachable presence during peak playing times
Operations & Facility Oversight *Daily management of pro shop (appearance, inventory, merchandising)*Manages golf cart fleet (cleanliness, maintenance, repairs)*Oversees starting times, pace of play, handicap system, and enforces all golf and club rules*Coordinates with Grounds Superintendent on course conditions and maintenance timing*Collaborates with Food & Beverage on event needs
Administration & Compliance *Maintains accurate records (rounds played, statistics, prizes, etc.)*Ensures full compliance with health, safety, employment, and OSHA regulations*Implements department-wide safety program*Attends all required staff, committee (Golf, Green, etc.), and management meetings*Represents the club at local, state, and national professional events and merchandise/educational shows (with GM approval)
Communication & Representation *Provides golf content for the club website*Serves as the primary liaison between members, guests, golf committee, and other departments*Reports directly to the General Manager (and works closely with the Golf Committee)
