Located just outside of the city of Washington, DC The Country Club at Woodmore is a private club that is home to one of the most challenging and beautiful 18-hole golf courses in the area. The golf course, an Arnold Palmer design, is one of the finest in the state of the metro DC area and state of Maryland, and features tree-lined fairways, intricately contoured greens, and bunkers that were renovated in the fall of 2023. In addition, Members enjoy two har-tru tennis courts and a relaxing pool complex. The club hosts a robust, year-round social calendar and dining operation to ensure all Members enjoy their home away from home.

Experience Required

• The Country Club at Woodmore is seeking a qualified PGA Member in good standing with a history of proven performance at the highest level. The successful candidate will have served at a similar type of private club and will have substantial experience as a Director of Golf and/or Head Professional, preferably at a private, for-profit country club. The candidate must be able to develop and maintain a good rapport with the Club's members. In addition, they must be able to provide leadership for all golf operations personnel: assistant professionals, golf operations staff, and outside operations staff. The Director of Golf is directly responsible for all outside golf revenue booked at the club, and this position is very sales focused to drive revenue at the club. The successful applicant must ensure that the golf experience at the Club for all members and guests is one that is memorable and meets the highest standards.

PGA Member in Good Standing

• Minimum experience of three years' experience as a Director of Golf/Head Professional preferably at a private, for-profit facility.
• Demonstrated dedication and passion for the industry
• Technically proficient in all aspects of Golf Operations
• Proficient with Microsoft programs; outlook, word, excel
• Proficient with Golf Genius
• Strong sales focus on driving golf revenue
• Strong family values and unquestionably high marks in moral and ethical behavior
• Member service oriented
• Interacts well with all groups
• Proven business acumen
• Strong organizational and communication skills; both verbal and written
• Excellent tournament operations skills
• Projects requisite attitude and enthusiasm that would ensure the ability to grow with the Club.

Essential Responsibilities

The Director of Golf will oversee and manage the total golf operation, reporting to the General Manager. The scope of the position will be all inclusive to include supervision of all assistants and golf operations staff, the Golf Shop, the instruction program, the practice facility, and all other related functions. This is a year-round position.

The position will have responsibility for assuring that budgets and financial management of golf operations. Teamwork is a key component of success for this position, including maintaining a close and professional relationship with the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure that Golf Operations are effectively coordinated with other functional areas. It is expected that the successful applicant will assist in maintaining and enhancing the prominence of The Country Club at Woodmore in the golf community
