Overview

Governors Towne Club, a private gated golf and country club community just 45 minutes from downtown Atlanta, is searching for a Director of Golf to oversee golf operations, building lasting relationships on and off the course, maximizing profitability, and ensuring every round, lesson, tournament, and interaction reflects excellence and hospitality.

This is your chance to lead all golf operations at our private club, overseeing golf personnel, instruction, tournaments, merchandising, and daily play in a private club setting with championship golf, vibrant golf shop, and private club style amenities (pool, tennis, fitness, family programming).

Experience Required

What You Bring

• PGA Class A Membership.
• 5+ years progressive leadership in golf operations (Director of Golf, Head Pro, 1st Assistant, Director of Instruction, or similar).
• Proven track record in high-end club or hospitality settings.
• Expertisein team leadership, merchandising, tournaments, instruction, budgeting, and member engagement.
• Proficiency with golf management software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, strategic planning, and passion for the game, customer service, and fiscal responsibility.
• Physical ability to actively engage with children, walk extensively, lift up to 50 lbs, and respond calmly in any situation.

What You'll Do

• Oversee all golf operations: daily play, setup/breakdown, golf shop, fleet, practice areas, instruction programs, tournaments, outings, leagues, and merchandising.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and lead a talented team (Head Pro, Assistants, Teaching Pros, Merchandisers, Outside Services team) to deliver service excellence and teamwork.
• Drive financial performance through business planning, budgeting, cost control, revenue optimization (fees, retail, lessons, events), KPI tracking, and vendor negotiations.
• Elevate the member/guest experience: enforce policies, apply Rules of Golf, play rounds with members/prospects, resolve concerns professionally, and support membership recruitment.
• Grow participation and loyalty with innovative player development (lessons, clinics for all ages using PGA resources), creative merchandising, promotions, and integrated events.
• Collaborate with agronomy, food & beverage, membership, and leadership to enhance course playability, coordinate logistics, and align with club-wide goals.
