Description
OverviewThe Role (Read This Carefully)
This is not a "coach all day and be the face" job.
This is a director-level leadership and operating role. You will run the instruction department as a business, owning standards, people, systems, revenue performance, and member experience.
If you prefer to avoid KPIs, accountability, difficult conversations, or operational ownership, this role is not a fit.
You are being hired for judgment, execution, and leadership-not just technical coaching skills.
You have full authority over:
- Coaching standards, curriculum, and assessment flow
- Coach scheduling, utilization, and day-to-day deployment
- Enforcement of standards and performance expectations
- Member experience decisions within the facility
- Internal coaching SOPs and communication protocols
You operate within agreed guardrails on:
- Hiring and role recommendations
- Pricing and packages (within pre-set ranges)
- Promotions, clinics, and events (alignment with ownership on major initiatives)

Experience Required
Scoreboard: How You'll Be Measured (Non-Negotiable)
You will own a weekly scoreboard. These numbers are reviewed weekly, evaluated monthly, and quarterly.
Core KPIs include:
Targets are defined upfront and adjusted intentionally-not retroactively.
Coaching Responsibilities (Balanced by Design)
- Deliver high-level 1:1 instruction and structured training plans
- Use modern technology and objective feedback (video, launch monitor, data)
- Support performance-informed coaching and club fitting solutions
Important:
Your success is driven by team output, not personal lesson volume. Coaching time will be intentionally balanced with leadership responsibilities.
Who You Are
You are a rare blend of elite coach, disciplined leader, and operator.
You likely bring:
- Years of coaching experience (indoor preferred)
- Proven ability to build systems, not just deliver sessions
- Comfort with metrics, scoreboards, and accountability
- High standards and the courage to enforce them
- Strong communication across all levels of players and staff
- Comfort having hard conversations early, directly, and respectfully
Credentials
- PGA Member Class A (required)
- TPI certification or experience is a plus, not a prerequisite
Essential Responsibilities
What You'll Own (Accountability Areas)
1) Coaching Department Leadership (Primary Responsibility)
- Define, document, and enforce coaching standards
- Train, mentor, and develop coaches (onboarding → mastery)
- Conduct regular quality audits and address gaps quickly
- Build a culture of professionalism, consistency, and performance
2) Revenue & Business Operations
- Own instruction-related revenue streams: lessons, packages, memberships, fittings
- Improve conversion from inquiry → assessment → ongoing training
- Coordinate events, programs, and partnerships that drive demand
- Protect pricing integrity and margins-no reactive discounting
3) Member Experience & Community Presence
- Deliver a premium, consistent member experience
- Be visible, engaged, and present in the facility and local community
- Collaborate with Elevated Sport & Spine to deliver a true performance ecosystem
4) Systems & Predictability
- Implement SOPs for scheduling, coaching delivery, and communication
- Identify bottlenecks and solve them with simple, repeatable systems
Build consistency that scales beyond individual personalities
