Overview

The  Director of Instruction  will work closely with the  Head Golf Professional  to develop, promote, and deliver comprehensive instructional programming for Meadow Club. This individual will play a central role in fostering a culture of player development by providing high-quality instruction to club members, their families, and guests, with limited programming offered to the public.

Instructional offerings will include  private lessons, semi-private lessons, group clinics, golf schools, and junior golf programming . Candidates who are experienced and comfortable with  club fitting  are encouraged to contribute in this capacity as well. In the past two years, Meadow Club has made a considerable investment into the Learning Center and short game area near the Center. Some of these investments include the Swing Catalyst system with force plates, a dedicated putting green, bunker chipping area and mounding for teaching from various lies. Utilizing all these options will be strongly encouraged.

The Director of Instruction will also assist with  marketing and promoting both new and existing player-development programs  to Meadow Club's membership, helping grow engagement in the game and strengthening the club's instructional offerings.

This is a  full-time position  that works collaboratively with the Head Golf Professional, assistant professionals, and golf shop staff. A strong team approach is essential in delivering the highest level of instruction and service to our members and guests.

Other golf professionals may teach a  maximum of two lessons per day during scheduled eight-hour shifts , with additional lessons permitted outside their scheduled hours.

Experience Required

• Minimum  three years of experience in the golf industry , with a strong emphasis on teaching and coaching
• A genuine  passion for both learning and teaching the game of golf
• Maintain  PGA of America membership in good standing  with an active classification
• If a PGA Associate, actively pursue PGA membership through the  PGA Professional Golf Management (PGA/PGM) Program  in a timely manner
• Strong  knowledge of the Rules of Golf and golf facility operations
• Familiarity with  point-of-sale systems, reservation systems, and related technology platforms
• Proficiency with  instructional technology , including video analysis systems, launch monitors, and force plate technology
• Ability to serve as a  role model for all employees , demonstrating professionalism, strong work ethic, and positive leadership
• Excellent  organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to  promote and market instructional programs
• Strong  service-oriented and member-focused mindset
• Effective  written and verbal communication skills
• A collaborative  team-oriented approach to member and guest services

Essential Responsibilities

• Continually pursue professional development and remain current with  modern teaching methodologies and technologies  to help students improve their performance and enjoyment of the game
• Maintain a  minimum five-day weekly availability for instruction , including  one weekend day . (The club is closed on Mondays except during holidays.)
• Accurately  bill and account for all instruction  through the club's point-of-sale and reservation systems
• Develop and deliver all facets of Meadow Club's  instructional programming , including:
• • Private lessons
  • Semi-private lessons
  • Group clinics
  • Golf schools
• Spend  2-4 hours per week assisting Golf Operations staff in the Golf Shop
• Collaborate with Golf Operations staff to  organize and administer junior golf programs
• Assist with  summer junior camps , when needed
• Provide support to Golf Operations staff during  major club tournaments and events
• Encourage members who are  new to the game  to participate in instructional programs and player-development opportunities
• Help monitor  behavior, dress code, and conduct  at practice facilities and communicate any significant concerns to Golf Operations staff
• Ensure all  training aids and instructional technology  (video systems, launch monitors, force plates, etc.) are secure, updated, and functioning properly
• Assist in  mentoring and training members of the professional staff  so all professionals are proficient with available instructional technologies

Benefits

The Director of Instruction position includes  a base salary plus 90% of all lesson and club-fitting revenue .
