Description
The Director of Surgery provides strategic and operational leadership and management accountability for UT Medical's Main OR and Sterile Processing Departments. The Director is responsible for the execution of day-to-day operations of the Main Operating Room, consisting of 36 ORs, as well as all Sterile Processing functions. The Director of Surgery demonstrates leadership behaviors to drive performance and continuous process improvements across the perioperative flow in the Main hospital. A qualified individual will reflect and lead their departments to reflect, the core values, vision, and culture of UT Medical and UT Medical's Perioperative Services Division. Responsible for the delegation, coordination and management of all aspects of surgical care provided to UTMC patients in the Main Operating Room. Represents Perioperative Services across the hospital in nursing leadership as well as cross-functional committees and improvement teams. Ensures the Surgery departments maintain a high level of patient, team member, and medical staff engagement and satisfaction.
Reports to the Vice President, Perioperative Services.
Requirements
Master's Degree required, either in Nursing, Business, or Healthcare.
Five + years of experience in surgical services nursing and three + years in manager-level or above healthcare management required.
Must be a registered Nurse with an active license in the State of Tennessee. CNOR preferred.
