Description
What You'll be Doing:
- Provide leadership for instructional improvement initiatives aligned with state standards, district goals, and research-based teaching practices to improve student learning.
- Coach and mentor principals, vice principals, and instructional leaders while facilitating leadership development programs that strengthen instructional leadership across the district.
- Oversee the district assessment system, coordinate required state and local assessments, and lead data analysis to inform instructional strategies and school improvement efforts.
- Partner with school leaders to develop and monitor School Improvement Plans and implement Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
- Guide instructional walkthroughs, observation and feedback systems, and professional learning to improve teaching quality and promote equitable, culturally responsive practices.
- Maintain accurate data systems, ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, supervise assigned staff, and provide reports and recommendations to district leadership and the school board.
Requirements
What You'll Need:
- Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in job-related area.
- Experience: Experience as an principal/assistant principal preferred.
- Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Must have a Washington State Principal Certificate and WA State Teaching Certificate. Must meet WA State Certification Criteria.
- Minimum qualifications: Five years of effective K-12 classroom teaching experience required. Two (2) years of building- or district-level leadership experience required.
