Position Overview:

As a Fabrication Project Manager, you will lead high-performing teams in design, engineering, project management, and business services. You will oversee the successful execution of fabrication projects by managing the project's: personnel, financials, risks/opportunities, and schedules, through effective relationship building, communication, negotiation, scheduling, tracking, document control, and forecasting. You will mentor Project Engineers, and develop strong, positive relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Own project scoping and execution while meeting or exceeding individual job profitability goals
2. Understand mechanical systems costing and value analysis
3. Communicate with internal and external teams to complete designs and clear scope within budget
4. Develop and maintain positive client relationships
5. Estimate and negotiate change orders
6. Track, forecast, and report labor hours and material costs
7. Maintain working knowledge of project contracts and specifications
8. Ensure compliance with UMC Standards and contractual requirements
9. Plan, organize, and schedule project work with fabrication superintendent supervision
10. Prepare fabrication shop work packages
11. Ensure full compliance with UMC Safety Program
12. Communicate proactively and professionally with team members
13. Manage daily workflow and delegate tasks effectively.
14. Onboard, train, and provide ongoing coaching to team members.
15. Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and create career development plans for direct reports
16. Uphold UMC Core Values and maintain regular attendance and promptness
17. Collaborate with field Project team and Manufacturing supervision to develop project specific schedule as it pertains to the creation and execution of Manufacturing specific deliverables.
18. Assist in creation and management of project-specific Material Matrix
19. Creation and release of fabrication packages to fabricators.
20. Review contract drawings, detail drawings and specifications.

Supervisory Responsibility:

1. Supervise and coach Project Engineers, and Project Coordinators

Preferred Education and Experience:

1. Experience as a mechanical project manager
2. Degree in Construction Management or Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering desired
3. Experience managing PMs and PEs
4. Basic HVAC and plumbing engineering knowledge

Required Licensing and Certifications:

1. Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
