- Faculty Position in Education
Description
Canadian Mennonite University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, or tenured faculty position (open-rank) in Education.
The successful candidate will work with other faculty members to deliver an innovative new accelerated 16-month after-degree Bachelor of Education program. The program is an all-grades curriculum, preparing teachers for K-12 classrooms and grounded in a cohort-based pedagogical framework
We are seeking individuals who love to teach in the classroom and can invite teacher candidates to be creative and rigorous in analyzing educational systems and curricula, while also developing a strong sense of teacher identity. Our small department values the ability to teach a variety of courses in education, with a particular focus on adaptability and practical application in teaching across K-12 levels.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be prepared to draw on a strong record of K-12 teaching experience (ideally at various grade levels) and reflexive practice to train and equip teacher candidates with the skills and self-knowledge needed to navigate classroom teaching in a variety of challenging contexts. Research experience in decolonizing assessment, language(s) and literacy(ies), scientific or mathematical literacy, or social justice education are an asset.
Applicants must hold (or be near completion of) the PhD in Education, EdD, or an equivalent advanced degree in Education; and must possess (or be eligible to hold) a valid teaching certificate in Manitoba and have familiarity with the Manitoba Curriculum. Should the candidate be a senior scholar, we seek previous experience administrating and leading in Education at the postsecondary or secondary/primary levels.
The appointment will begin June 1, 2026. Rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full) will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
