The Financial Administrator is responsible for financial functions within the Office of the Dean in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS). This position supports financial activities for operating (02), cost center (03), and discretionary (04) funds. This position will assist the SHRS Business and Financial team in creating and reviewing budgets and account management. The Financial Administrator reports to the Assistant Director, Business Analysis and Management and works closely with staff, faculty, directors, and deans.
Job Summary
Prepares and analyzes financial data for senior leadership in budgetary and financial planning. Tracks and analyzes budgetary developments. Reviews financial and budgetary proposals and assists in preparing complex reports and statements.
Essential Functions
Reconcile Financial Accounts
Reconcile financial accounts monthly and accurately forecast expenses
Provide financial account updates to relevant offices and departments
Manage SPARs for Office of Dean staff
Manage Financial Transactions and Serve as Purchaser
Prepare financial transactions including expense reports, service agreements, contracts, non-salary cost transfers, journal entries, salary wage cost transfers, etc.
Create requisitions and serve as main purchaser for Office of the Dean
Approve expense reports, requisitions, and contracts
Deposit checks and allocate credit card payments to appropriate accounts
Invoice external entities for services rendered
Support Research Financial Administration
Reconcile research development funds and internal grants monthly
Provide financial account updates to relevant departments
Manage subaward invoicing
Other Duties/Projects as Assigned
Assist with RC-level financial projects
Provide RC-level reporting to departments
Physical Effort
The incumbent will perform duties that require remaining sedentary for long periods. Must be able to lift or carry 25 pounds or less.

Additional details about Required Licensure/Certification: Bachelor's degree required; 3-5 years of professional experience; preferably in the field of higher education financial administration. Experience with University of Pittsburgh financial systems (e.g., PRISM, Panther Express, Concur) is preferred. Combination of education and experience will be considered.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m
Work Arrangement: Hybrid: Combination of On-Campus and Remote work as determined by the department.
