Located in beautiful La Quinta, California, Palm Royale Country Club is a gated residential community surrounding a challenging, public eighteen-hole, par three walking golf and disc golf course. "The Desert's Premier Par 3 Course", Palm Royale Country Club (PRCC) is looking for an experienced individual to oversee the total golf operation which includes golf shop and staff management, golf course management and services, tournament coordination, budget management, and sales and marketing. The objective of this position is to promote an exceptional golf experience, provide excellent programs and events for all members and guests while maximizing profitable golf revenue. This is a rare opportunity to work with an engaged and fun golf community.

Experience Required

• Three to five years experience managing or assistant managing total golf operations, including both golf course and club house.
• Three years experience managing staff.
• Three years experience developing and managing golf tournaments and golf activities programs.
• If not currently a PGA professional, individuals actively participating in the PGA Associate Program are encouraged to apply.

Essential Responsibilities

In Season Responsibilities: (October 1 - April 30)

• Develop an annual business plan and budget for golf operations.
• Establish sales goals and forecasts for all golf operations, programs and services, monitor and analyze financial and utilization reports.
• Work collaboratively with the PRCC HOA Baoard, PRCC Golf Committee and associated vendors on all golf course projects, including project scheduling, project management and reporting on project progress.
• Oversee all fiscal areas and performance for the golf operations including planning, budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, and correction.
• Oversee and enforce golf shop operations policies, procedures, controls, and fee structures to ensure the safekeeping of assets, inventory and resources.
• Establish golf shop operations personnel policies and ensure proper hiring, training, supervising, personal development and corrective action in accordance with fair labor standards, safety and established policy.
• Manage all golf department staff (2-3 PT staff).
• Conduct regular staff meetings focused on customer satisfaction, operations, revenue growth, cost containment and continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain operating procedures and training manuals for the golf operation.
• Enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage.
• Attend and actively participate in all PRCC HOA Board meetings and Golf Committee meetings.
• Work collaboratively with the PRCC HOA Board, PRCC Golf Committee, and associated vendors on all golf course projects, including project scheduling, project management and reporting on project progress.
• Coordinate, develop and approve all written correspondence regarding golf operations to HOA members.
• Oversee golf marketing initiatives including all promotional materials, play recruitment, yield management, golf packages, and outside events.
• Develop and oversee an innovative tournament schedule and golf activities program that services all customer segments.
• Develop and oversee a profitable merchandise concession that is consistent with HOA guidelines and customer/members demographics and needs.
• Perform season-end inventory of all golf shop goods.
• Maintain a presence in the Pro Shop by greeting and welcoming all customers/members, both current and prospective.

Off Season Responsibilities: (May 1 - September 30)

• Continue to work collaboratively with the HOA Board and Golf Committee as necessary.
• Work collaboratively with golf course maintenance vendor, HOA Board and Golf Committee to establish appropriate golf course overseeding and reopening schedules and dates.
• Ensure that golf course and common areas are properly watered and maintained by golf course maintenance vendors.
• Ensure that the Clubhouse is inspected and secured daily.
• Management and coordination of any special events.
