Qualifications
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Buildings Engineering team in Norfolk, VA . The Mechanicaical Engineering Intern will collaborate and be mentored by top Engineering associates on our team. The selected candidate will work with associates assisting the Norfolk Buildings Engineering Group on a variety of projects that combine innovative design concepts with a strong knowledge of technical standards to exceed client expectations and provide cost-effective solutions. This is an amazing opportunity to gain hands on experience and a better understanding of the Buildings Engineering Industry. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine calculations requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles
- Prepare and revise plan documents details
- Collect and prepare data for evaluation
- Perform engineering with the use of computer-assisted engineering software and equipment Provide support to engineering and project management associates
- Current student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at an ABET-accredited universityExcellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
- 2.5 GPA or above
- Prior internship or related experience
- AutoCAD and/or Revit experience
- Experience or exposure to building plans preparation and design standards
- Specific interest in Building Design
