The hospital is the only one in Connecticut to receive national ranking in this specialty and our primary inpatient rehabilitation unit is perennially ranked as top 10 rehabilitation center in the Northeast and the top performer in Connecticut by Newsweek. Our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, (PMR) launched a residency program division with eight residents and expected to have the full cohort of sixteen by year 2027. PMR is the largest division in the department with faculty located in all delivery networks in the state.

Join our growing faculty. The Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation seeks a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician for a full-time faculty position in general physiatry. This position will have an expectation of clinical service commitment at the Yale New Haven Hospital region.
Primary Role:
General physiatry with focus on spasticity management.
EMG skillset preferred but not required.
Primary practice locations:
New Haven and adjacent practice locations.
Academic appointment:
Assistant or Associate Professor commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
Patient care.
Participate in the training of residents, medical students, and other allied health students.
Opportunities:
Opportunities to practice other areas of interest in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Engage in research activities, depending on the wishes and skill set of the candidate. Research is supported and valued.
Leadership opportunities.
Qualifications:
Board Eligible/Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
Strong commitment to teaching and academic development.
Interest and/or experience in General Physiatry, Electrodiagnostic medicine, and Spasticity. There is also potential for Prosthetics and Orthotics patient care if interested.
