Job Summary:
This position supports the Fulbright Scholar Program. The Fulbright Program is the flagship international academic exchange program sponsored by the United States Government.
The Fulbright Outreach and Recruitment team is responsible for promoting Fulbright opportunities to a range of U.S. audiences, including: faculty, university administrators, artists, post-docs and professionals. The Outreach and Recruitment Specialist supports recruitment activities by developing and executing strategies to reach potential applicants, institutional representatives, and partner organizations throughout the U.S.
This position serves as a subject matter expert on the higher education community as well as a subset of geographic regions to be assigned based on expertise across the team. The Specialist works collaboratively across Fulbright teams and liaises closely with Fulbright Commissions and Posts overseas to support their recruitment priorities. This position reports to the Assistant Director, Fulbright Scholar Program Outreach and Recruitment.
Essential Functions:
• Supports the Assistant Director, Fulbright Scholar Program Outreach and Recruitment in the development of outreach and recruitment plans, including strategies to promote opportunities in different world regions, across disciplines, career profiles and professional specialties.
• Analyzes application data to develop strategies to connect Fulbright with various audiences, including scholar populations from under-represented disciplines, states, and institutional profiles.
• Accountable for recruitment strategy implementation manages the recruitment schedule, identifies opportunities to advance discipline and regional recruitment goals, creates digital and print program materials to promote Fulbright and its advantages for different audiences, including conference presentations.
• Implements a metrics-based approach to recruitment strategy assessment and recommends changes based on data: registration and participation in recruitment events; performance of recruitment campaigns; program website stats; and application results analysis.
• Represents the Fulbright Program before large audiences at virtual and in-person events including campus visits and conference presentations and exhibit halls
• Makes routine payments (i.e. participants, partners), handles mini-procurements and makes low-cost expenditures with appropriate supervisory approval.
• Develops, maintains, and supports key contacts at partner institutions. Interacts with institutions of higher education, scholarly associations and, as needed, other external constituencies, including Fulbright sponsor, vendors, consultants, and contractors, to professionally represent IIE.
• Drafts and reviews program reports.
• Manages communications through multiple regional and program specific inboxes.

Qualifications and Experience:
Education and Work Experience:
• Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Advanced degree (e.g. MA, PhD, etc.) preferred
• Significant experience (5 or more years preferred) related to higher education with faculty & administrators.
• Strong understanding of higher education environment, including area such as international programs, grants and sponsored research, and fellowship advising.
• Significant experience in an outreach and recruitment role. Must exhibit maturity and be comfortable in a client-centered team and demonstrate ability to use diplomacy in difficult situations.
• Ability to organize and handle a large volume of work under severe time constraints and pressures.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking and presentation skills.
• Superior writing and editing skills and a thorough knowledge of the English language.
• Demonstrates creativity and ability to suggest innovative yet practical solutions to new challenges.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook and applicable outreach and recruitment mediums
Salary and Benefits:
• Hiring Range: $67,097 - $85,801. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.
