The laboratory of Subhadip Ghatak, PhD, at the McGowan Institute of Regenerative Medicine (affiliated with the Department of Surgery) at the University of Pittsburgh has an immediate opening for a talented and passionate full-time Postdoctoral Associate.
Qualifications:
PhD in Biology, biochemistry, or chemistry.
Bench work experience is preferred.
Job Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will work on independent and collaborative projects studying exosomal crosstalk in tissue repair and regeneration. The successful applicant should have experience in the study of nanotechnology with evidence of publication history in nano characterization, microscopy. The candidate must be willing to work with animals and human subjects. The Postdoctoral Associate should be able to work independently or with very limited supervision and must be able to multitask and show interest in contributing to several projects ongoing in the lab.
The qualified applicant will be required to conduct research, interpret results, prepare manuscripts, and aid in the preparation of grant applications. The required expertise includes all basic laboratory techniques. The applicant should have command of the English language, good interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, critical thinking ability, and evidence of experience and good writing skills through first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals. The applicant should also be proficient in computer software usage, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical packages.
