Description
The University of Aizu seeks outstanding and creative-minded candidates from academia and industry in Artificial Intelligence, AI Hardware and Architectures, Edge AI Systems, Neuromorphic Computing and Devices, Biomedical Engineering, Space Science, Mathematics, or Physics. The School of Computer Science and Engineering invites applications for faculty positions at our bilingual university.
Faculty should be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and conduct research in one of the areas listed above. Applicants should also have a strong interest in collaborating with other faculty members and in promoting University-Industry relations through cooperative research projects and other activities. Applicants with teaching experience are preferred.

Preferred employment starting date: October 1st, 2026, or April 1st, 2027, but this is negotiable.

Requirements
1. Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science and Engineering or a closely related area. Doctoral students nearing graduation may apply, but the degree must be earned by the start of employment.
2. Ability to lecture and provide research guidance at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Teaching experience in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Systems, Mathematics, or Physics is especially valued, and we also welcome applications from scientists with strengths in computer engineering and computer science.
3. Full fluency in English or Japanese is required. If fluent only in Japanese, a working knowledge of English is desirable. At the undergraduate level, classes may be taught in either English or Japanese, but proficiency in English is preferred. At the graduate level, instruction is in English in principle.
