Program Manager - Camp

As a Program Manager of Camp, you'll oversee the preparation and daily operations of our summer camp programs, ensuring a safe, fun, and engaging environment for campers and staff. You'll provide leadership, manage resources, and coordinate activities while serving as a key point of contact for staff, partner organizations, participants, and families. This role is hands-on, dynamic, and essential to creating life-changing experiences.
Schedule: Full Time, Year Round
Pay: $46,285 annually
Location: Hybrid, in person at Camp Courage - Maple Lake, MN and Camp Friendship - Annandale, MN as needed. Willingness to live on-site during summer camp season preferred.
What You'll Do:
As a Program Manager, you'll be at the heart of camp operations - planning, leading, problem-solving, and jumping in wherever needed.
You'll:
- Oversee the preparation and daily operations of assigned program(s)
- Ensure participant satisfaction, healthcare, safety, and meaningful engagement
- Lead, supervise, and support staff through training, coaching, and performance management
- Recruit, train, and mentor a strong, mission-driven team
- Collaborate with families, partners, case managers, and fellow team members
- Help with scheduling, marketing initiatives, and registration
- Ensure compliance with all licensing, legal, and organizational requirements
- Participate in ongoing learning and professional development
- Provide hands-on support, including participant interaction and direct care as needed
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
- Hear and communicate verbally as required for program operations
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time during work hours
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
- Work in an office environment and use standard office equipment (computer, phone, copier etc.)
- Stand, walk, sit, bend, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move continually during activities
- Use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment
- Lift up to 35 lbs. when necessary
- Must be able to travel to events and other locations as needed
- Live on-site during summer months preferrable
Requirements
What You'll Bring:
- At least 18 years old
- Ability to pass an organizational background study
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Minimum of 1 year supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong business acumen with the ability to generate revenue and manage expenses effectively
- Ability to provide strategic thinking and decision making at a program level
- Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to drive outcomes
- Functional computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other relevant software
- College degree in a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
