About the Corioli Institute
The Corioli Institute is a think-and-do tank dedicated to (re)building social cohesion and sustainable futures in communities affected by violence. We work alongside formerly armed actors and the communities receiving them to strengthen shared resources and the local commons—creating conditions for trust to grow and social cohesion to take root.
Role Overview
Summer Fellows contribute to core Institute deliverables through one of two tracks:
Track I — Project Research (Social Cohesion Assessment Toolkit)
Fellows work in small teams (structured like a graduate seminar) to support completion of our Social Cohesion Assessment Toolkit, which operationalizes social cohesion across violence-affected contexts and provides practitioners with a hands-on guide to identify, measure, and adapt interventions accordingly.
Teams work with Corioli Institute original data from three field settings: Latin America, the Arab Region, and Ukraine, focusing on dimensions of:
- Intragroup cohesion
- Intergroup cohesion
- Vertical cohesion (institutions & governance
Workstreams include:
- State of the Field — synthesizing academic + practitioner literature
- International Case Studies — curating empirical examples to illustrate real-world dynamics
- Indicator Development — developing actionable cross-regional assessment indicators based on findings from our data
Track II — Institute Communications
Fellows support the Institute’s public-facing communications through strategic content creation and brand development, producing original assets aligned to Corioli’s mission and audiences.
Content areas include:
- Informative content (image/video): infographics, carousel posts, explainer videos on mission-relevant topics (based on original research and/or public sources)
- PR/Marketing content: publication promos, short image videos, recaps, web copy improvements, showcasing accomplishments
- Brand and outreach reflection: end-of-fellowship reflections on Corioli’s brand identity, audience fit, and engagement learnings to inform future strategy
