Home Moravian Church is a congregation of the Southern Province of the Moravian Church in America and as such is a part of the worldwide Moravian Unity. Our Ground of the Unity states:
With the whole of Christendom, we share faith in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe and confess that God has revealed himself once and for all in His Son Jesus Christ; that our Lord has redeemed us with the whole of humanity by His death and His resurrection; and that there is no salvation apart from Him. We believe that He is present with us in the Word and the Sacrament; that He directs and unites us through His Spirit and thus forms us into a Church. We hear Him summoning us to follow Him, and pray him to use us in His service. He joins us together mutually, so that knowing ourselves to be members of His body we become willing to serve each other.

In doctrine and interpretation of the scriptures our church allows for considerable freedom, always acknowledging Jesus Christ as Lord. We try to abide by the motto adopted by Bishop John Amos Comenius, “In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; and in all things, love.”

We are a congregation located on Salem Square in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The church was founded in 1771 and our current sanctuary was consecrated in 1800 with additional buildings in 1913 (Rondthaler) and 1940 (Christian Education). We have an average worship attendance of 200.

Benefits

Worship is central in the life of the church. Our services of worship are intended to provide opportunities for us to respond to the grace of God with praise, confession, thanksgiving, and intercession. The proclamation of God’s Word through preaching is biblically based and takes seriously the contemporary world in which we live.
