Location: Albany, NY Category: Faculty Job Type: Part-time Posted On: Tue Apr 28 2026 Job Description:The College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity (CEHC) is the first of its kind in the nation; uniting people, technology and knowledge to address the challenges of the 21st century. The Emerging Technology and Entrepreneurship Complex (ETEC) is the $180M research, instructional and entrepreneurial complex in which CEHC resides, providing our faculty state of the art laboratory and teaching spaces.
CEHC seeks adjunct lecturers for the Department of Cybersecurity. Successful candidates will be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in one or more of the following subject areas: cybersecurity management and policy; technical foundations of cybersecurity (including systems, networks, operating systems, programming, databases, and web technologies); information systems security and assurance; secure software and application security; cyber threats, intelligence, and malware analysis; data analytics and artificial intelligence in cybersecurity; cybersecurity law, economics, and institutions; research methods, statistics, and project management in cybersecurity.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Cybersecurity Department in one or more subject areas, which may include but are not limited to:

- Programming Essentials for Cybersecurity
- Web Technologies Essentials: Security and Design
- Database Fundamentals and Security Principles
- Introduction to Systems and Security
- Introduction to Computer Networks and Security
- Research Methods of Cybersecurity
- Elementary Statistics
- Digital Project Management
- Operating Systems
- Data Analytics and AI in Cybersecurity
- Trustworthy AI
- Secure Software Development and Analysis
- Web Application Security
- Reverse Engineering and Malware Analysis
- Economics of Cybersecurity
- Cybersecurity Policy, Law, and Institutions
- Cyber Threats and Intelligence
Functional and Supervisory Relationships:
- Reports to Department Chair
- Supervises the following positions: none
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and practices in one or more areas such as cybersecurity management and policy, technical foundations, information systems security, secure software and application security, cyber threats and intelligence, or data analytics and artificial intelligence in cybersecurity.
- Ability to design and deliver effective undergraduate and/or graduate instruction in cybersecurity across in-person, online, and hybrid modalities.
- Ability to incorporate current professional practices, tools, or applied experience from the cybersecurity or information technology domain into academic coursework.
- Ability to communicate effectively and foster an inclusive learning environment that supports student success within a diverse academic community.
- Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.
- Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A MA or MS in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a closely related field from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- Three or more years of academic teaching or professional training experience.
- Demonstrated readiness to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in varying modalities (in-person, online, and/or hybrid).
Preferred Qualifications:
- A PhD in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- Experience teaching graduate courses in Cybersecurity such as Cybersecurity Management & Policy, Technical Foundations of Cybersecurity, Information Systems Security and Assurance, Programming Essentials for Cybersecurity, etc.
- Demonstrated experience or teaching in multiple modalities (in-person, online, and/or hybrid).
- One or more years working in the Cybersecurity and Information domain in various industries, e.g., finance, health, game design, manufacturing, service, etc.
