Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship

Positions Available: July 2027 and July 2028 Start Dates
The University of Utah Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship is currently accepting applications for one available position beginning July 2027 and is also recruiting candidates for the July 2028 fellowship year.
This one-year fellowship provides comprehensive COCATS Level III training in Cardiac MRI and Cardiac CT, preparing fellows for advanced clinical practice, academic leadership, and research careers in cardiovascular imaging.
As a high-volume tertiary referral center, the University of Utah offers fellows extensive exposure to a diverse spectrum of cardiovascular disease. Fellows train using state-of-the-art MRI and CT technology while working alongside nationally recognized faculty in both Cardiology and Radiology. Our program is distinguished by strong clinical, translational, and basic science collaborations, including close interaction with cardiologists, radiologists, and PhD MRI physicists.
Program Highlights
- Comprehensive COCATS Level III training in Cardiac MRI and Cardiac CT
- High-volume clinical experience with a broad range of complex cardiac conditions

- Hands-on training through individualized case interpretation with attending physicians
- Formal didactic curriculum covering advanced cardiovascular imaging topics, including MRI and CT physics
- CT training includes CCTA and structural cardiac CT

Eligibility
We accept 1-2 fellows per year.
Preferred applicants:
- Completed an ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship
- Eligible for, or possess, a valid U.S. medical license
We also welcome applications from board-eligible or board-certified physicians in Internal Medicine with significant clinical and research interest in cardiology.
