Alibaba Cloud Data Center is a global cloud computing infrastructure offering high-performance, available, and secure cloud services across 30 cloud regions and 89 availability zones through advanced technology and global deployment.

Leveraging years of experience, Alibaba Cloud has innovated various technologies such as its in-house efficient Panama power supply and highly elastic cooling technology enabling nearby cooling, precise temperature control, and secure operations. The data center also employs intelligent O&M robots for around-the-clock maintenance and industry-leading immersive liquid cooling technology.

We are looking for a passionate, results-oriented, candidate to drive the implementation of data center projects. S/he should thrive in collaborative, cross-functional environments to manage both internal and external stakeholders to tackle the challenges in designing and building Alibaba data center facilities. The program manager is responsible for project oversights and review in architectural, electrical, mechanical and IT equipment deployment by providing direction, coordination, control on the team to ensure consistency with global technical standards and business goals.

Key responsibilities include

• Own the deployment of Alibaba overseas data center.

• Partner with several stakeholders such as capacity planning, engineering, operation, procurement and finance team to ensure the successful delivery of infrastructure.

• Manage multiple vendors to track progress, identify risks and solve problems throughout the project. Be responsible for the project delivery in targeted schedule, cost and quality.

• Own initiatives to standardise global process of project management and improve the deployment methodologies to optimize the schedule.

• Identify defects or waste in our deployment processes, and drive new processes and software automation to eliminate the defects and prevent them from recurring without posing risk to availability.

Position Requirement

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years experience managing projects in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.

• 5+ years experience in Construction or Project Management.

• 5+ years experience in Vendor Management

• Excellent written composition and verbal communication skills.

• High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

• Ability to think and react in a high energy, fast paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related technical discipline

• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: large colocation deals, site selection for industrial-scale projects, real estate evaluation, acquisition, development, and construction, negotiating or managing utility agreements, financial modelling.

• Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, evaluate new ideas with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

• Proven track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communications across technical and non-technical stakeholders and experience presenting to senior executives.

• Significant experience successfully delivering results in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

• Language proficiency in Mandarin speaking will be a plus.
