Description
This position supports the preparation of school leaders who are committed to student engagement and success, data-informed decision-making, and instructional excellence.
Responsibilities include:
- Teach graduate courses in Instructional Leadership in online and/or blended formats per term (Fall and Spring).
- Design and deliver engaging, high-quality instruction aligned with program outcomes and state standards.
- Facilitate meaningful discussions and provide timely, constructive feedback to support candidate growth.
- Assess student performance using clear, standards-based evaluation practices.
- Maintain regular communication with students and program faculty. Student emails should be responded to within 24 hours.
- Contribute to continuous program improvement initiatives as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned by department leadership.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Earned doctoral degree in Instructional Leadership, Educational Leadership, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience teaching graduate-level courses in educational research, educational statistics, quantitative and qualitative research methods, and data analysis in a higher education setting.
- Demonstrated effectiveness teaching in online and/or blended learning environments.
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty, and administration.
- Commitment to academic excellence, professional integrity, and student success.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience fostering inclusive learning environments that support diverse student populations.
- Participate in regularly scheduled meetings
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in higher education, preferably within a College of Education or educator preparation program, with knowledge of program administration, accreditation, assessment, curriculum, and continuous improvement processes.
- Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle).
- Experience teaching working professionals in graduate programs.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a P–12 school setting.
- Knowledge of school improvement processes, data analysis, curriculum leadership, or educational policy.
- Experience mentoring aspiring school leaders.
