Description

The Department of Political Science invites applications for a tenured position in Public Administration at the rank of Associate or Full Professor beginning August 1, 2027. Tenure will be offered at the Associate Professor or Full Professor rank, depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications. The successful candidate will begin serving as the Director of Graduate Programs in Political Science on August 1, 2028. The primary responsibility of the Director of Graduate Programs is to lead the NASPAA-accredited MPA program, which serves the local region and state via courses offered on campus in the evening. The successful candidate will join a faculty committed to high-quality, student-centered undergraduate and graduate education; a strong research agenda; attentive student mentoring; and meaningful service to the University, the profession, and the broader community. Candidates are expected to teach at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Public Administration, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, or a closely related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference is given to candidates who best fulfill our instructional and programmatic needs in local government, urban economics (or economic development more broadly), and quantitative analysis for public administration.
