Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically robust AV Systems Engineer to serve as the critical technical anchor for our integration team. In this post-sales Project Engineer role, you will take approved sales concepts and turn them into fully engineered, deployment-ready realities. You will own the technical lifecycle of a project from the initial engineering handoff through final system commissioning, ensuring our field teams have exact, flawless documentation to build from.
The ideal candidate possesses deep commercial audiovisual architecture knowledge, strong CAD drafting capabilities, and an unyielding commitment to signal-flow integrity and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Design & CAD Drafting: Translate post-sales scopes of work into comprehensive engineering packages. Create functional layout drawings, architectural elevations, structural mounting details, and end-to-end schematic signal-flow diagrams utilizing AutoCAD (or Revit)
- Technical Quality Control: Review sales designs for technical feasibility, calculate power consumption, BTU heat loads, and structural weight limits, and correct any hardware or signal gaps prior to procurement
- Component Specification: Generate exact Bills of Materials (BOM) and collaborate with procurement teams to ensure correct hardware, cable types, and custom componentry is ordered
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the technical liaison between sales, control system programmers, project managers, and client-side IT departments to resolve infrastructure and network security requirements
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 3–5+ years of dedicated engineering experience within the commercial AV systems integration industry
- CAD Mastery: High proficiency in AutoCAD with a proven portfolio of detailed AV line diagrams and rack layouts
- Broad Hardware Knowledge: In-depth technical familiarity with enterprise AV ecosystems, including but not limited to
- Video/UC Platforms: Crestron NVX, AMX /SVSI, Visionary Solutions, Extron NAV, Biamp, Q-SYS, Zoom Rooms, Teams Rooms
- Audio DSP: Q-SYS Designer, Biamp Tesira, BSS
- Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical architectures into highly scannable, clean engineering documentation
Preferred Certifications:
- AVIXA: CTS or CTS-D highly preferred
- Manufacturer: Q-SYS Level 2, Crestron Core Track, or Dante Level 2/3
