Description
Upper Dublin Township, A First-Class Township in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, seeks an experienced and collaborative professional to serve as its full-time Code Enforcement Director.
The Code Enforcement Director is responsible for the overall administration and enforcement of the Township’s building, property maintenance, and other applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations. The Director leads a full-time staff of seven employees and oversees the Township’s third-party code consultant, which is primarily responsible for commercial plan reviews and inspections.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to direct the day-to-day operations of the Code Enforcement Department; lead and develop staff; coordinate effectively with contractors, developers, design professionals, and other outside parties; address complex code matters; provide clear and consistent guidance to residents, businesses, and applicants; and collaborate with other Township departments and elected officials.
Candidates should possess a combination of education, training, and progressively responsible experience sufficient to successfully perform the position’s duties. Preferred qualifications include current certification by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry as a Building Code Official and Residential Building Inspector. Additional certifications relevant to building code enforcement, inspection, plan review, and related disciplines are highly desirable and preferred by the Township.
This is a full-time position with an excellent benefit package. The salary range is $125,000 to $150,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The selected candidate will be subject to a six-month probationary period.
