The Department of Emergency Medicine at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland is seeking outstanding academic emergency physicians to join a nationally recognized department at northern New England's premier tertiary care and referral center. We are looking for board-certified or board-eligible emergency physicians who thrive in a high-acuity environment and are committed to excellence in patient care, education, and scholarly activity.
Candidates should be comfortable caring for patients across the age spectrum in a dynamic, fast-paced clinical setting. Additional consideration will be given to applicants with fellowship training or significant experience in pediatric emergency medicine.
Maine Medical Center Portland provides emergency care to more than 80,000 patients annually and serves as Maine's only Level I Trauma Center, the state's primary referral center, and home to the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital. Faculty practice in a clinically diverse environment that includes complex adult and pediatric emergency care, trauma, and critical care.
The department sponsors a fully accredited three-year Emergency Medicine residency program and fellowships in EMS, Medical Education, and Ultrasound. Faculty play an integral role in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows and are eligible for academic appointments through Tufts University School of Medicine. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience, accomplishments, and contributions to education and scholarship.
