Data Scientist II, Marketing
Thumbtack, Inc. (San Francisco, CA) to be responsible for owning end-to-end analytics for growth marketing. Specific job duties include: partnering with Marketing, Finance, and external partners to understand user behavior, define target audiences, measure campaign performance, and support budget forecasting and allocation; translating ambiguous business questions into rigorous analyses and clear recommendations that improve campaign performance and optimize the overall marketing channel mix; designing, executing, and interpreting experiments and quasi-experiments to enable causal inference and inform marketing investment decisions; scoping, building, and evaluating marketing measurement, campaign tracking, attribution, experimentation, customer segmentation, targeting optimization, and personalization capabilities; collaborating with cross-functional partners to build scalable analytical solutions, tools, and frameworks that support sustained growth; and designing, maintaining, and documenting high-quality, trusted data tables and metrics that enable self-serve decision-making across teams. Must have Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, Statistics, Math, Data Science, or a related quantitative field. Must have two (2) years of prior work experience in the position offered or related in marketing data science, marketing analytics, or quantitative marketing role. Must know (through academic training or work experience) advanced SQL for large scale data querying; Python for data analysis and development; Looker or similar BI tools to drive insights; end-to-end data pipeline development and ETL process; marketing measurement, performance optimization, and channel mix analysis; statistical modeling and hypothesis testing, causal inference methodologies; designing and implementing large scale A/B testing or experimentation frameworks; experience working with large-scale datasets and applying statistical and/or machine learning models to solve real-world business problems; and analytical framework development including dashboards and reporting systems. $143,000 - $150,000/yr.
May work from home anywhere in the continental U.S.
