About the Club:
Opened in 2005 and quickly regarded as the "must play" in Louisiana, The Atchafalaya offers the perfect opportunity for a golf getaway or complete corporate outing.

Celebrated designers, Von Hagge, Smelek, and Baril, recognized for Le Golf National, Doral, LaCosta, and the TPC at Woodlands, crafted notable features, including dramatic elevations with spectacular views of the Atchafalaya Basin. Each of the 18 championship holes is named for a cultural feature within
the Basin.

The Atchafalaya is appreciated by golfers of all skill levels for its exceptional course conditioning and expansive greens, including the unique "common green," shared by holes #9 and #18 overlooking our clubhouse.

The 7,533-yard, public course is surrounded only by nature and uniquely landscaped exclusively with trees, shrubs, and aquatic plants indigenous to the Atchafalaya Basin. The facility features:

• Camouflage carts equipped with GPS touch screens

The Director of Golf will report to the Chairman of the Golf Course Commission.

Position Description:
 
Atchafalaya Golf Club is excited to announce an exceptional career opportunity for the Director of Golf position. Qualified candidates will be energetic and thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service to all AdLink sponsors, passholders, customers, and guests.

Atchafalaya is owned by the St. Mary Parish Government, operated by the seven-member Atchafalaya Golf Commission, and that this position would qualify as a full-time employee of the Parish with excellent health benefits and a retirement plan.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develops, implements, and monitors annual budget, revenue goals, and expenses for operations departments.

• Provides timely and accurate reporting of all financial and non-financial information as directed, requested or required by the Golf Commission.
• Monitors monthly and other financial reports/statements on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis for the facility and takes effective corrective action when necessary.
• Develops, maintains, and administers sound organizational plans and initiates improvements as necessary.
• Maintains membership with the PGA and other professional associations. Attends workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments.
• Oversees the care and maintenance of all the facilities physical assets.
• Coordinates marketing programs designed to promote the facility's services to potential customers.

• Promotes and coordinates tournaments; and assists annual passholders and Ad Link sponsors.
• Coordinates food and beverage operations with the operator of the restaurant to promote the facility's services to potential customers.
• Implements policies and procedures for the Golf Operations, including compliance with all company standards relating to quality of products and services.
• Coordinates with the Grounds and Green Superintendent on upcoming golf outings, tournaments, and daily operations.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.
  • Oversee all Golf Operations, including but not limited to cart maintenance, inside and outside staff, and driving range.
  • Budgets, Reporting, Financials, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly on golf operations, grounds and green maintenance, and food and beverage.
