Overview

The Back Nine Golf is a private indoor golf simulator club that delivers a premium experience. We are expanding rapidly across the DFW metroplex with multiple locations open and more on the way. We are seeking a Director of Golf who will serve as the on-site leader of Back Nine locations in Colleyville and Southlake. You will balance the business of golf - demos, membership sales, operational efficiency - with the craft of golf - delivering high-quality instruction. We plan on this role allowing for 15-20 hours per week of private and small-group coaching while dedicating approximately 20 hours per week to conducting facility demos, onboarding new members, and managing day-to-day club operations.

Experience Required

Required Qualifications

• PGA of America membership strongly preferred
• 4+ years of experience in a teaching or leadership role at a private club, public facility, or indoor golf concept
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a lesson book
• Strong sales instinct - you understand that every demo is an opportunity and every lesson builds retention
• Operational mindset with the ability to manage a facility independently and without constant oversight
• Proficiency with golf simulator platforms
• Comfortable using CRM tools, booking software, or membership management platforms
• Professional presence with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends

Essential Responsibilities

Facility Operations & Leadership

• Act as the primary on-site operator of your Back Nine locations.
• Maintain facility standards so the club looks and feels "opening day fresh" at all times.
• Coordinate with ownership on staffing needs, scheduling, and operational improvements.

Membership Sales & Demo Experience

• Serve as the primary driver of membership growth at your location. You are conducting demos, walking prospective members through the experience, and closing.
• Manage the member onboarding process to ensure every new member feels welcomed and set up for success.
• Proactively monitor member engagement.
• Build and maintain relationships with local corporate clients, positioning The Back Nine as the go-to venue for client entertainment, team outings, and corporate memberships.

Golf Instruction & Member Engagement

• Deliver 15-20 hours per week of professional-level instruction using Full Swing simulator technology across all skill levels.
• Build a consistent lesson book that drives both member retention and instructional revenue.
• Design and run member programming - leagues, competitions, and social events - that keeps the club active and builds community.
• Leverage simulator data and launch monitor technology to deliver a modern, tech-forward teaching experience.

Member Experience & Culture

• Make every member feel like a VIP regardless of skill level. The scratch golfer and the first-timer should both feel at home.
• Notice the details. A screen that needs recalibrating, a bay that needs tidying, a member who hasn't been greeted - nothing escapes your attention.
