Overview

Golf Course Information: The Oklahoma City Public Property Authority (OCPPA) owns and operates five (5) golf facilities. The Trosper Park Golf Course facility includes an 18-hole course, clubhouse, golf shop, restaurant, driving range, and practice area. Total annual operating budget for the facility is approximately $2.1 million. Position Description: The Director of Golf is an independent contractor, and assumes full responsibility for the general maintenance, management, and operation of Trosper Park Golf Course, and oversees the management of all OCPPA staff. The Director of Golf will work with the OCPPA and Golf Commission as a strategic partner, supporting organizational planning and collaborating closely on Central Business Office matters to ensure aligned and efficient operations. The Director of Golf may own and operate the golf shop to provide the rental and selling of golf supplies and golf equipment pursuant to a separate lease agreement with the OCPPA. The annual lease payment for the golf shop is $6,329, which the Director of Golf pays to the OCPPA. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promote and direct daily golf-related activities and services, while providing the highest level of service to customers.

• Manage the storage and repair all golf carts in the facility or facilities.

• Establish an annual budget for Trosper Park Golf Course, including regular required financial reporting.

• Oversee purchases and approve expenditures for the golf course following OCPPA Policy.

• Facilitate Golf staff meetings and work with the Oklahoma City Golf Commission to oversee golf course policies, procedures and pricing.

• Manage the golf maintenance staff including Maintenance Superintendent, ensuring a successful team approach to managing the golf facilities.

• Manage the Trosper Golf Course Restaurant, including on-course food and beverage services and related staff.

• Instruct and grow the junior, women's and men's player development golf instruction programs and clinics for all skill levels.

• Organize, recruit, promote, and conduct successful tournaments and outings.

• Engage in professional development activities and encourage subordinate staff participation.

• Ensure all services and employees will be available to the patrons during all of the hours of operation.

• Promote a positive image for the golf facility throughout the community.

• Work closely with Oklahoma City officials as needed for special projects to grow the overall success of Trosper Park Golf Course.

• Work closely with the Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Director regarding golf course activities and reports.

• Assist the Golf System's Marketing Manager in marketing the golf course, amenities, and player programs and activities to maximize rounds and revenue.

• Operate private golf shop as pursuant to a separate lease agreement with the OCPPA.

Experience Required

Qualifications:

• Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) Class A member in good standing (required).

• Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience within a professional golf course setting, or equivalent combination education and experience.

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership qualities.

• Experience hiring, managing, and leading a diverse group of employees, including staff training and development.

• Outstanding marketing and programming skills.

• Excellent business management and computer skills.

• Experience in all aspects of successful golf operations.

• Prior Head Golf Professional Experience.

• Ability to play golf with golfers of all skill levels.

• Proven record of providing superior customer service.

Benefits

Compensation/Benefits: • Five (5) year Professional Management Agreement contract, with option for renewals. • Annual management compensation range is $78,029 to $103,029 based on experience, plus private golf shop business income. • Up to an additional $25,000 annually, in performance incentives. • As an independent contractor, no additional benefits provided.
