Description
OverviewOld Warson Country Club is seeking a Director of Instruction to lead all coaching and player development programs within an established and structured golf performance system. The Director of Instruction will report to the Director of Golf and manage all teaching, player development, and all other instruction based programs.
This role is designed for a professional who values clarity, organization, and long-term player development, and who is motivated to keep the instructional offerings on the cutting edge of performance and technology.
The successful candidate will inherit a fully functioning and supported system that integrates instruction, junior programming, and performance-based training. The expectation is to execute and elevate this system, ensuring consistency, growth, and a high-quality member experience.
Casey Cox, the former Director of Instruction at Old Warson, has accepted a leadership opportunity within the broader sports performance industry that will take him beyond the St. Louis area. We are committed to identifying a successor who will build upon this success and continue delivering an exceptional coaching experience for our membership.
Facility Description
Old Warson Country Club is a premier, golf-centric, social and family-oriented Club located 20 miles west of downtown St. Louis. The Club is rich with history and tradition, and through the years has hosted national and international championship events including the 1971 Ryder Cup, and 3 important U.S.G.A. National Championships: the 1999 U.S. Mid-Amateur, 2009 U.S. Women's Amateur, and the 2016 U.S. Senior Amateur. The Club recently opened a new Golf Performance Center in March of 2025 which includes two TrackMan hitting bays, a social area and an additional private TrackMan teaching bay upstairs. The basement includes a 1,200 square foot area with turf that has two Oxefit systems and three Bushnell Launch Pro's.
Current Program Philosophy
The current golf program at Old Warson is built on a multi-dimensional approach to player development, integrating:
- Biomechanics (how the body moves)
- Physical performance (strength, stability, rotation)
- Coaching and skill development
This structure allows coaches to identify whether limitations are mechanical, movement-based, or performance-related-creating a more effective and individualized development process.
Experience Required
- Class A PGA or LPGA Member in good standing
- Experience at upscale private golf facility preferred
- Advanced degree in sports science preferred but not required
- Ability to develop, maintain, and grow relationships with members and staff
- Consistent positive attitude and approachability with all members and staff
- Strong communication skills
- Reputation of playing ability and professionalism is helpful. Would encourage to compete in local and national events
Candidate Profile
Competencies and Experience
- Strong foundation in golf instruction and player development
- Experience coaching junior golfers and managing programs
- Recommended biomechanically sound understanding of the golf swing
- Experience with or willingness to learn performance-based technologies
- TrackMan proficiency
- Experience with 2D/3D motion analysis (e.g., Fenris or similar systems)
- Exposure to strength and conditioning or performance training environments

Essential Responsibilities
Instruction & Player Development
- Deliver private, semi-private, and group instruction to members
- Develop long-term player development plans across all skill levels
- Maintain a consistent and structured coaching approach
Junior Golf Program Leadership
- Oversee and execute a structured, year-round junior program (ages 5-17) consisting of daily practices in season and multiple days per week in the offseason training center
- Manage practices, matches, and player tracking systems with assistance from current Teaching Assistant
Program Execution & System Management
- Maintain consistency in scheduling, communication, and lesson delivery
- The candidate will inherit existing "playbooks" and frameworks for junior and group programming that is supported by the membership
Technology & Performance Integration
- Utilize and integrate technology, currently including: TrackMan; Fenris Motion-to-Coach; OxeFit
- Translate data into actionable coaching insights
Member Experience & Communication
- Build strong relationships with members and families
- Maintain high accessibility and professionalism
- Deliver a premium, organized, and consistent experience

Compensation
- Base salary structure to be discussed
- Total Anticipated Compensation Range = $150,000 - $225,000+
