Description
OverviewThe Director of Outside Operations is responsible for overseeing all external golf operations to ensure an exceptional member and guest experience. This role manages the daily functionality, appearance, and efficiency of outside services, including the bag room, golf cart fleet, practice facilities, and overall cleanliness of the property.
Experience Required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in golf operations or outside services preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of golf etiquette and standards of service
- Ability to lift and carry golf bags (up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Essential Responsibilities
Staff Management & Scheduling
- Create and manage weekly schedules for Bag Room Staff to ensure proper coverage during all hours of operation
- Train, supervise, and evaluate outside operations staff
- Foster a team-oriented environment focused on service excellence and professionalism
Bag Room & Member Services
- Oversee daily bag room operations, including club storage, handling, and organization
- Ensure efficient staging and delivery of golf bags for members and guests
- Maintain high standards of customer service at all touchpoints
Club Repair
- Provide basic club repair services, including regripping, spike replacement, and minor adjustments
- Maintain inventory of repair supplies and ensure timely service for members
Facility Cleanliness & Presentation
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of all outside areas, including staging areas, bag room, cart barn, and practice facilities
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain a professional and welcoming appearance
Golf Cart Fleet Management
- Oversee the daily inspection and preparation of all golf carts
- Ensure carts are clean, fully charged, and in proper working condition
- Coordinate routine maintenance and repairs with appropriate vendors or staff
Practice Facility Operations
- Maintain a fully stocked driving range and short game area at all times
- Ensure consistent presentation and quality of range balls and practice areas
- Coordinate regular picking, cleaning, and rotation of range balls
Operational Oversight
- Monitor pace of play and assist with on-course operations as needed
- Communicate effectively with Golf Shop staff and other departments to ensure seamless operations
- Assist with tournaments, outings, and club events as required
