Description
ENcompass is seeking a Director of Sales & Marketing to lead outbound lead generation, industry outreach, and marketing initiatives. The primary mission of this role is to drive growth through new client sales, own the corporate LinkedIn presence, execute client outreach campaigns, and uncover new business opportunities.
This position requires someone who can drive initial engagement, communicate clearly with potential clients, identify opportunities based on their needs, and describe the value of our corporate offerings. Success in this position is measured by your ability to generate high-quality business opportunities and build a strong pipeline.
The ideal candidate is highly connected, has their own network of professional connections, is involved in industry organizations (e.g. AFCEA), is active on LinkedIn, and is comfortable reaching out directly to companies to deliver sales pitches.
This position will primarily operate in a virtual work environment with occasional onsite work, but the candidate must be able to frequently travel to industry events, tradeshows, conventions, and networking functions. US Citizenship is required, and candidates must reside within one hour of Chantilly, Virginia.
Specific Responsibilities
Outreach & Lead Generation:
Build, qualify, and maintain a pipeline of Federal contractors and prospective clients aligned with ENcompass’s strategic vision and service offerings.
Design, launch, and execute proactive client outreach campaigns, develop outreach lists, and establish messaging/talking points.
Perform direct outreach to companies via email, LinkedIn, and phone to schedule and lead introductory meetings.
Attend industry events, agency conferences, symposiums, and networking functions to generate leads and support relationship development.
Opportunity Identification & Hand-Off:
Conduct discovery calls and initial prospect meetings to identify specific client needs and determine which of our offerings could benefit the company most.
Clearly articulate the company’s value proposition and answer initial questions.
Foster relationships with prospective clients and conduct follow-up discussions to deliver sales pitches for our solutions.
Collaborate with the Leadership Team to generate quotes, write statements of work, and determine pricing.
Seamlessly transition qualified leads and specific opportunities to the appropriate Leadership Team member to negotiate and close the deal.
Pipeline Management:
Populate the corporate CRM tool with prospective clients, points of contact (POCs), pipeline opportunities, and other key data.
Manage outreach schedules, document follow-up activities, make updates to the CRM tool, and provide reports to the Leadership Team to maintain visibility and accountability.
Marketing Ownership:
Own, manage, and scale our corporate LinkedIn presence to elevate the company's market profile and brand presence.
Lead corporate marketing initiatives such as outreach email campaigns, co-marketing with partner firms, and other promotional activities.
Participate in industry organizations (e.g. AFCEA) to broaden corporate exposure, market awareness, and networking opportunities.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent professional experience.
7+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales, marketing, account management, or similar roles.
Strong track record of generating leads, conducting outbound marketing/sales initiatives, and driving pipeline growth.
Firm understanding of government contracting including Federal agencies, major FAR clauses and SBA rules, acquisition lifecycles, and the Shipley process.
Familiarity with Federal GWACs, IDIQs, BPAs, and how contractors use contract vehicles to access Federal opportunities.
Hands-on experience with LinkedIn, common procurement listing sites, market intelligence / research tools, and CRM platforms.
Business acumen to strengthen brand presence, market positioning, and sales activity effectiveness.
Strong people skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and strong presentations skills.
Well organized with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
US Citizenship is required. Must reside within one hour driving to Chantilly, Virginia, and must be willing to travel within the region as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience specifically selling consulting services, short-term professional service projects, or retainers for advisory support.
Expertise in marketing strategies, LinkedIn management, and digital outreach platforms.
Experience leading a sales team, establishing and growing a department, and/or managing multiple client accounts.
Experience working for a consulting firm that supports multiple clients.
Experience utilizing AI to enhance client outreach, expedite prospective client research, and improve sales activities.
