Organization Overview
Driven Forward Foundation is a program of One Heartbeat Foundation focused on reducing transportation insecurity by connecting individuals and families to reliable vehicles, affordable financing, and related supports through a network of partners. We work with community organizations, auto industry partners, and financial institutions to help people overcome transportation barriers to work, healthcare, education, and daily life. Driven Forward will be working to independent nonprofit status resulting in the position becoming an Executive Director.
Position Summary
The Director is a senior, hands-on leader responsible for building and managing Driven Forward Foundation’s referral-based transportation assistance program. This role does not provide direct client services; instead, it designs and oversees the referral system and partner network that deliver services.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director will initially be the sole staff member dedicated to this program and will focus on:
Building and managing strong relationships with referral partners, auto dealers, lenders, repair shops, and funders.
Designing and overseeing referral pathways and partner agreements.
Evaluating the most effective structure for providing services (cost, convenience, flexibility. Etc.).
Tracking outcomes and improving the program over time.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Strategy
Design and refine the referral-based program model, including eligibility, partner roles, and service pathways.
Develop clear policies, procedures, and standards for referrals and partner participation.
Set goals and metrics; track and report program performance and outcomes.
Partnership Development & Management
Serve as primary relationship manager for:
– Referral partners (workforce, social service, housing, reentry, healthcare, education, etc.).
– Service partners (auto dealers, vehicle donors, lenders/credit unions, repair shops, related vendors).
– Current and prospective corporate, foundation, and individual funders connected to the program.
Recruit, onboard, and support new partners to strengthen and expand the network.
Develop and manage MOUs/agreements that define expectations, data needs, and service standards.
Convene partners periodically to share updates, address issues, and coordinate efforts.
Referral Network Coordination
Oversee how referrals flow between partners, ensuring clarity, timeliness, and consistency.
Monitor participants’ progress through partner reports and data, without providing direct client services.
Identify and address system-level issues in the referral process (e.g., bottlenecks, communication gaps).
Fundraising & Resource Development Support
Provide data, partner information, and impact stories for grant proposals, reports, and donor materials.
Participate in meetings and presentations with funders and sponsors, especially auto and financial partners.
Help identify and cultivate funding, sponsorship, and in-kind opportunities through the partner network.
Operations, Data & Compliance
Help select and manage systems to track referrals, partner activity, and outcomes.
Ensure adherence to data privacy, basic legal requirements, and organizational policies.
Produce concise program and partner reports for the Executive Director and Board.
Future Capacity & Growth
Identify needs for additional staffing, technology, and partner support as the program grows.
Develop simple tools and materials (e.g., partner guides, referral protocols) to support scaling.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
3–5+ years of experience in nonprofit, public, or social enterprise work, with responsibility for partnerships, networks, or program coordination.
Proven success building and managing external relationships with organizations and/or businesses.
Strong organizational and project management skills; able to work independently.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and to serving people facing economic and systemic barriers.
Preferred
Experience in transportation, financial empowerment, workforce development, housing, or related fields.
Familiarity with basic concepts in consumer lending, credit-building, and/or vehicle financing.
Experience launching or growing a program or collaborative initiative.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $[insert range], Commensurate with experience. Our expectations are this position will be at least $60,000 and not more than $80,000 annual base salary.
