Description

The City of Salem Public Works is hiring a civil engineer at one of three levels —Engineering Program Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Project Manager — depending on your experience and certification. 

Recent retirements, a voter approval of a $300 million Community Improvement Bond Measure, and a backlog of projects have created a rare combination: long-term funding, meaningful work, and room to grow. The Engineering Division’s approved Capital Improvement Plan totals $407 million and provides at least 10 years of funded infrastructure to be delivered by our team.

Requirements

        Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or a related field (position level experience listed below). 

        Professional Civil Engineer License required (Comity to obtain a State of Oregon license required within one year of appointment to the position).

        Pass the pre-employment background check.

        Valid Oregon Driver’s license, or the ability to obtain an Oregon license within 30 days of residency and meet the City of Salem’s driving standards.

Engineering Program Manager (Engineer 4)

Twelve (12) years of experience in a Civil Engineering or related field, or any combination of experience and training that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed, and ability to perform the essential job functions.

Senior Project Manager (Engineer 3)

Ten (10) years of experience in a Civil Engineering or related field, or any combination of experience and training that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed, and ability to perform the essential job functions.

Project Manager (Engineer 2)

Six (6) years of experience in a Civil Engineering or related field, or any combination of experience and training that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed, and ability to perform the essential job functions.
