Foundation for Blind Children (FBC) is a high profile, nationally recognized non-profit in Phoenix, Arizona. Celebrating our 75th Anniversary, FBC serves over 2,000 blind and visually impaired students of ALL ages, from birth to currently 100 years old on three Valley campuses. Our preschool for blind children and braille library are the largest in the country. A well-established and growing non-profit, FBC leads the blind community both locally and nationally with new and innovative teaching methods, technology and outcomes. The mission of the Foundation for Blind Children is to provide education, tools, and services that enable all persons with vision loss to achieve greater independence.
The Individual Giving Advisor will grow sustainable philanthropic revenue by building and managing a qualified portfolio of current and prospective donors. The position develops and executes personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that deepen donor engagement and increase major and planned gift support. Through frequent, relationship-centered outreach and accurate CRM documentation, the role advances donors through the pipeline while ensuring strong stewardship and recognition. In close partnership with the Development Director, the Advisor aligns donor interests with organizational priorities to meet annual revenue goals.
Job Duties include:
Grow and Manage the Donor Pipeline
- Research and qualify current donors as well as prospective donors for assignment to the major gift portfolio.
- Develop personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans that reflect each donor’s interests and connection to our mission.
- Conduct regular donor visits (in-person, phone, or virtual) to build relationships and inspire deeper investment.
- Track all donor interactions and progress using the organization’s CRM system, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Work collaboratively with leadership, program staff, and communications to align donor interests with organizational priorities.
Planned Giving
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit donors for planned gifts within portfolio, including bequests, beneficiary designations, and other deferred giving opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development and external advisors to maintain resources and materials supporting planned giving outreach.
- Ensure planned gift prospects are stewarded and recognized appropriately.
Collaboration & Strategy
- Partner with the Development Director to set annual revenue goals and co-create strategies to reach them.
- Participate in moves management and prospect review meetings.
- Support the development team in donor events, stewardship activities, and campaigns as needed.
- Prepare compelling proposals and donor materials that speak to our mission and impact.
- Monitor progress and adjust plans when needed to meet goals.
- Support other duties and activities as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- At least five years of nonprofit or philanthropy experience in Individual Giving
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Familiarity with fundraising software (Salesforce experience strongly preferred)
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with data governance standards
- Must possess or be able to obtain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Ability to travel independently in the greater Phoenix area
