Opportunity InformationGould Medical Group is looking for skilled professionals to work in an outpatient mental health clinic, serving a wide variety of mental health disorders for all age ranges. Duties will include individual and group psychotherapy with opportunities for family and couples' work. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors may apply.
Gould Medical Group is a growing, 525+ clinician multi-specialty group located about two hours east of San Francisco, California. Our communities offer quick access to the bay area as well as other hot spots such as Napa Valley, Yosemite, and Lake Tahoe.
Position Details:
- Position available in Stockton, CA
- Base salary $100,000-$110,000
- Behavioral Health department consists of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers , and Advanced Practice Clinicians
- Would need to see adolescents and adults (12+)
- Will be integrated with the OBGYN department seeing patients for perinatal anxiety, depression, menopause, perimenopause, infertility, abnormal women's health results and couple's therapy
- Mostly short-term individual psychotherapy
- Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions appropriate for the primary care setting, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Problem-Solving Therapy (PST), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), with patients across the lifespan (ages 12+).
- Candidates should also be able to provide culturally responsive care, respecting and valuing the diverse backgrounds and experiences of patients.
- Candidates should be able to deliver brief, focused interventions (typically 15-30-minute visits) consistent with the consultative, high-volume nature of the PCBH model, as opposed to traditional 50-minute psychotherapy sessions.
- Candidates should be comfortable receiving warm hand-offs and same-day referrals from primary care providers and providing real-time curbside consultation to the medical team.
- Candidates should be skilled in triaging and managing a broad, undifferentiated range of presenting concerns (e.g., depression, anxiety, chronic pain, insomnia, health behavior change, chronic disease management) rather than a specialty caseload.
- Candidates should be able to document efficiently in the shared medical record using concise, functionally oriented progress notes (e.g., SOAP format) that are accessible and useful to medical providers.
- Candidates should be able to support population health and preventive care efforts, including behavioral health screenings (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7) and pathway/protocol-driven care for identified patient populations.
- Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to manage an unscheduled, fluid clinic flow, and to function as an integrated member of the primary care team rather than an independent specialty provider.
- Freedom to set work hours and schedule. Some opportunity to set treatment modality and treatment length.
- Will need to have alternative hours, including some evening work after 5:00pm
- Some telework available onsite
- Call is one week in twenty-three weeks (phone only)
