Job Summary
Seeking a Medical Oncologist for a community and academic-focused position providing inpatient and outpatient oncology and hematology care. The role involves working with multidisciplinary teams, treating a diverse patient population, and participating in clinical, academic, and research-related activities. Candidates will support growing oncology services across multiple healthcare locations and contribute to patient-centered cancer treatment programs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide inpatient and outpatient oncology and hematology care.
Diagnose and manage patients with cancer and blood disorders.
Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
Participate in departmental clinical activities and patient management initiatives.
Support clinical and translational research activities when applicable.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
Participate in academic and educational activities, including collaboration with medical trainees and faculty.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies.
Contribute to quality improvement and patient care initiatives.
Participate in on-call coverage and additional clinical responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements / Skills
Fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology required.
Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology.
Strong clinical knowledge in oncology and hematology treatment practices.
Ability to manage both inpatient and outpatient oncology services.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary healthcare environments.
Interest in clinical research and academic medicine preferred.
Ability to manage complex patient cases and maintain high-quality patient care.
Excellent organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to compassionate and patient-centered care.
