The University of Utah, College of Social Work invites applications for a 12-month Career-Line faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (Lecturer). The primary responsibilities associated with this lecturer position is teaching in the online MSW program. There may be opportunities to teach in the online BSW and Substance Use Disorder Treatment Training certificate programs. This is a non-tenure track faculty position within the University’s Career-Line Faculty structure, with a renewable contract.

The successful candidate filling this position is not required to be on the University of Utah’s Salt Lake City campus. The successful candidate may engage in telework remotely unless otherwise notified. The successful candidate hired into this position will be responsible for providing their own work space, telephone, printing, networking and/or internet capabilities at the telecommute location and agree to the terms of the University of Utah campus and Health Academics faculty code and other relevant agreements.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must have earned an MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program; a Doctorate (Ph.D. or DSW) in Social Work is preferred. Applicants must have a history of teaching online and grounded (in-person) social work courses; certification in online teaching is preferred but not required. Applicants should also have experience with online curriculum/course development. Applicants must have a minimum of three years of post-MSW social work practice experience; five or more years of post-MSW social work practice experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Teach online courses during fall, spring and summer semester
- Proactively engage with and support the success of online students
- Ensure the quality of online teaching by engaging in ongoing professional development opportunities
- Support curriculum development as needed for online courses
- Participate in and work collaboratively to complete assigned duties in College of Social Work committees including admissions and advisory committees.
- Create and maintain cooperative, collaborative, and effective working relationships with administrators, faculty members, and staff in the delivery of online courses and programs
- Other duties as assigned
